Why 20 images x 20 seconds?

Maastricht unites its creative talent on the Pecha Kucha stage and links up with 280 other cities worldwide.

Architects, artists, designers, inventors and scientists present new ideas, using 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds. Using only 6 minutes and 40 seconds, each presentation remains concise, the interest level stays up and many people are given the chance to show.

The rules are simple:
- Each presenter is allowed 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds
- Each slide is visually attractive: no boring schedules or diagrams
- No long-winded or uninteresting commercial performances
- Presentations are – preferably – in English
